Featured Project
Trinity recently completed the J. Crew Bridal Boutique located at 771 Madison Avenue in New York City. In true Trinity fashion, the project team stepped up to extreme challenges and turned over a high-quality project in time for the store's scheduled opening.
Challenges arose on this project early on. Upon demolition, the construction team discovered major issues with the existing space triggering a redesign of the store layout and HVAC system. J. Crew expressed their desire to maintain the original turnover date and Trinity accepted the challenge. The schedule was shortened from 14 weeks to 10 weeks.
As J. Crew's first bridal store, this was an extremely high-profile project that garnered extra attention and oversight from J. Crew's Executives.
The two-floor retail space occupies the ground floor as well as the cellar, where tradesmen had to work carefully around base building utilities including steam and water piping, as well as electrical wires located in the ceiling. There are high-end finishes throughout the space including hardwood floors, Carrera marble base and plaster crown moldings and picture moldings. The stairwell features wood treads and risers with a slate runner in the center and Carrera base stringers. Coordination of the stairwell work was extremely complicated as it serves as the only access to the cellar.
The building's storefront underwent a redesign in an effort to replicate the look of a French boutique. The existing steel, glass and framing required structural engineering in order to complete the design comprised of intricate wood applied moldings and transoms. 8-foot tall solid wood doors with vintage-inspired brass hardware complete the look and welcome customers in from the street.
